What this site is

Orlando Crypto is a research and comparison site for people in Metro Orlando who want to use cryptocurrency and would rather not overpay or get defrauded doing it. We cover the routes available locally — licensed online exchanges, the dense network of crypto kiosks across Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties, card and bank payment rails, over-the-counter desks — and the Florida rules that sit behind all of them.

We are not a financial institution. We do not hold customer funds, execute trades, transmit money or virtual currency, or manage anyone's portfolio. We are not registered as an investment adviser and we do not give personalised advice. What we do is read fee schedules, check public licence registers, visit locations, and write down what we find in language that does not require prior knowledge.

Why Orlando specifically

Most crypto content is written for nobody in particular, which means it skips the things that actually determine your experience — whether your credit union blocks crypto card transactions, how much more a kiosk on International Drive charges than one on Colonial, what the Florida Legislature did to kiosk operators in 2026, whether hurricane season should change how you store a recovery phrase.

Those details matter, they are local, and nobody was writing them down. Orlando also happens to have one of the densest kiosk footprints in the southeast and has produced one of the larger crypto fraud prosecutions in the country, which makes a locally-grounded, sceptical guide genuinely useful here.

How we research and rank

Our exchange rankings are scored against published criteria: all-in cost on a realistic order, verifiable US and state authorisation, payment methods relevant to Florida customers, withdrawal and custody friction, and support responsiveness. The weightings are stated on the rankings page so you can disagree with them knowingly.

For local information we use operator disclosures, aggregator data, public agency materials and our own checks on the ground. Where a figure is an observation rather than a published number, we say so. Where something is likely to change — fees, limits, licence status, merchant acceptance — we say that too, and we tell you to verify before you transact. Every page carries a review date.

How we make money, plainly

Some outbound links to platforms may be partner links, meaning we could be paid a commission if you open an account. That arrangement never changes what we write, the order of our rankings, or the fees you pay. No platform has editorial input, no platform can buy a position, and we routinely publish criticism of companies we link to — you will find honest downsides listed against every platform on our rankings page, including our top pick.

We think disclosure plus visible criticism is the only version of this that is worth a reader's trust. If we ever could not write something true because of a commercial relationship, we would drop the relationship.

What we will not do

We will not tell you what to buy, when to buy it, or how much. We will not predict prices. We will not promote a token because someone asked us to. We will not carry advertising for products offering guaranteed returns, and we will not link to platforms whose legal status we cannot verify in a public register.

We also will not publish a directory of local businesses accepting crypto, because those lists go stale within months and send readers to counters where nobody knows what they are talking about.

Corrections

Fees change, licences change, machines get redeployed, laws take effect. If you find something on this site that is out of date or wrong, email contact@orlando-crypto.com and we will check it and fix it. Corrections to substantive facts are made on the page, and the review date is updated.
